Leslie received her Bachelor of Business Degree at the University of Houston - Clear Lake. She holds a certification in Inbound Marketing and is a John Maxwell Certified Member.
Leslie began her career in the nonprofit field in 2008 as a Social Service Case Manager for The Salvation Army in Texas City. She started working for United Way Galveston County Mainland in 2010 as the Donation Coordinator, and climbed the ranks to Assistant Executive Director in 2016.
She currently serves as Chairman of the Board for FEMA's Emergency Food and Shelter Program - Local Board Galveston County, a member of Texas Young Professionals, member of Texas City/La Marque Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals and a lifetime member of Phi Theta Kappa Sigma Delta Chapter. She is a graduate of the Texas City/La Marque Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program in 2017 and the League City Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program in 2019.
Leslie was recognized as a 2019 Honoree of the 40 Under 40 Award by Galveston County Daily News. In addition, she received the Spirit of Caring Award from United Way Galveston County Mainland in 2018 for her work after Hurricane Harvey; Outstanding Public Service, Community Service Leadership and Outstanding Achievement recognition by the Internal Revenue Service through the VITA program; and the Hometown Heroes Award in 2018 from St. George's Episcopal Church in Texas City.
Leslie participated in United Way Worldwide's 2019 LEAD program, a competitive year-long program designed to identify United Way employees with the highest performance and potential to achieve excellence. Leslie is a current member of United Way Worldwide's Equity Training Advisory Group focused on ending racism and ethnic discrimination.
