Corporate Community Engagement
If your company wants to engage with the local community, an employee workplace campaign is a great way to support our cause. These programs allow employees to make charitable contributions through payroll deductions or one-time pledges, providing a simple, tax-deductible way to give. Partnering with United Way Galveston County Mainland (UWGCM) enhances your company’s corporate social responsibility with minimal effort while supporting local nonprofits addressing poverty through programs in health, education, and more. Employee donations go further, creating a greater impact on the community.
EMPLOYEE IMPACT
Employees can choose to direct all or part of their donation to a specific UWGCM agency. These designated contributions are included in the total amount each agency receives, which is determined by our Allocation Committee. If the designated amount exceeds the allocation, the agency will receive the higher amount.
Employees have the flexibility to donate through payroll deduction, where a set amount is deducted from each paycheck, or make a one-time contribution, volunteer, or participate in fundraising events. United Way collects and distributes these donations to support various programs focused on education, health, and financial stability.
At the campaign’s end, United Way provides a report detailing the total funds raised, employee participation rates, and the overall impact.
Workplace giving campaigns are a powerful tool for United Way to engage the community and raise funds. Offering employees a chance to support causes they care about boosts morale, reduces turnover (by up to 32%), and strengthens company culture. As employee engagement increases, so does their likelihood of ongoing support, ultimately benefiting both the company and the community. Through partnerships with local businesses, United Way can amplify its impact and improve lives across the region.
