Lisa Shaw serves as the Executive Director of United Way Galveston County Mainland, bringing more than a decade of leadership experience in nonprofit management, community development, fundraising, and strategic planning along the Texas Gulf Coast. A collaborative problem-solver and mission-driven advocate, Lisa is committed to strengthening the safety-net systems, partnerships, and resources that help individuals and families across the county thrive.
Before joining United Way, Lisa served as Executive Director of the Galveston Arts Center and as a senior leader with the Lone Star Coastal Alliance, where she advanced major regional initiatives focused on economic resilience, outdoor recreation, and community engagement. Throughout her career, she has developed and managed millions of dollars in grants, built cross-sector coalitions, and led organizations through periods of growth, transition, and impact expansion.
Lisa’s work is grounded in the belief that strong communities are built through meaningful relationships, shared purpose, and equitable access to opportunities. She is passionate about helping partner agencies succeed, elevating the voices of the community, and ensuring donor investments create measurable, lasting change for the residents of Galveston County Mainland.
