Leslie Ornelas received her Master of Business Administration Degree with a concentration in Human Resource Management at the University of Houston - Clear Lake and is an Honorary Clinical Instructor at Walden University.
She currently serves as Chairman of the Board for FEMA's Emergency Food and Shelter Program - Local Board Galveston County, Leadership Advisory Council Member with League City Chamber of Commerce, a member of Texas Young Professionals, member of Texas City/La Marque Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals and a lifetime member of Phi Theta Kappa Sigma Delta Chapter. She is a graduate of the Texas City/La Marque Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program in 2017 and the League City Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program in 2019. Leslie is an active member of the Rotary Club of Dickinson.
Leslie was recognized as a 2019 Honoree of the 40 Under 40 Award by Galveston County Daily News. In addition, she received the Spirit of Caring Award from United Way Galveston County Mainland in 2018 for her work after Hurricane Harvey; Outstanding Public Service, Community Service Leadership and Outstanding Achievement recognition by the Internal Revenue Service through the VITA program; and the Hometown Heroes Award in 2018 from St. George's Episcopal Church in Texas City.
